Southeast Cotton Conference canceled

Two winter storms have been dumping snow and freezing rain across the area and more frozen precipitation was expected in the Raleigh and Rocky Mount areas tonight, according to Cecil Yancy, an editor with Southeast Farm Press, general sponsor of the conference.

“It’s often said, ‘if you don’t like the weather in North Carolina, wait a little while and it’ll change to suit you,’” said Yancy. “We’ve received a number of calls from participants who said they couldn’t attend because of the weather conditions.”

The Southeast Cotton Conference has become a forum for growers, Extension agents and others in the cotton industry to discuss cutting-edge issues, trends and production practices in the upper Southeast.
