North Carolina Pesticide Board seeks nominations

The North Carolina Pesticide Board is seeking nominations from the public to fill a vacancy for an at-large member on the Pesticide Advisory Committee.

The 20-member Pesticide Advisory Committee advises the board and Agriculture Commissioner Steve Troxler on technical questions and matters pertaining to the development of policies and regulations for pesticide use in North Carolina.

The nominee should be willing to attend monthly meetings in Raleigh when assignments are received from the board or agriculture commissioner. The term of appointment is open-ended, but the board typically has reviewed appointments after two years.

Nominations should be submitted to James Burnette, North Carolina Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services Structural Pest Control and Pesticides Division,1090 Mail Service Center, Raleigh, N.C. 27699-1090, or by e-mail to [email protected]. Please include a brief resume of the nominee’s qualifications.

Nominations are due by Aug. 15. All nominations will be presented to the North Carolina Pesticide Board for consideration at its September meeting.
