Alternate crop prices causing adjustments in cotton acres

Growers have indicated they plan to reduce their 2013 cotton  plantings to about 9 million acres. That’s fewer than all but a small handful  of analysts expected. The National Cotton Council’s Gary Adams gave a  state-by-state description of acreage expectations and reasons why the figures  are falling during a presentation at the Council’s annual meeting in Memphis, Tenn.
