South Carolina will hold ag summit Sept. 12

The 2007 South Carolina Agriculture Summit will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 12 at Orangeburg-Calhoun Technical College, 3250 St. Matthews Rd. in Orangeburg, S.C.

The 2007 Summit will be sponsored by the South Carolina Department of Agriculture and the South Carolina National Heritage Corridor Farmers Association. Registration will begin at 8:30 a.m. Hugh Weathers, commissioner of agriculture, will welcome the participants to the Summit at 9:00 a.m.

Registration, which includes a seat at the meeting, materials, and lunch, is $20 per person by Sept. 5, 2007. Those registering after Sept. 5th will pay a late registration fee of $25.

Participants are invited to bring business cards, brochures, farm t-shirts, and any other promotional items to the conference to cross-market and network with other South Carolina farms.

Evin Evans, Heritage Corridor Farmers Association Chair, will close the 2007 South Carolina Agriculture Summit. Immediately following the 2007 Summit, the Heritage Corridor Farmers Association will hold a brief annual meeting which is expected to conclude at 4 p.m.
