Corn stover creating new marketing opportunities, issues for producers

Iowa corn farmers have sold their stover as forage and  bedding for livestock for years. But the new cellulosic ethanol plants that  are beginning to spring up around the country are creating a new dimension for  such sales. Chad Hart talked about some of the pricing aspects for delivering  corn stover to ethanol plants during Iowa State University’s Integrated Crop  Management Conference in Ames, Iowa. The conference was attended by about 900  crop consultants and agronomists from across Iowa.
