Deficit Reduction Committee failure leaves farm groups scrambling

The Congressional Joint Committee on Deficit Reduction could have saved farm groups a lot of time and effort had it adopted the House and Senate Ag Committee’s recommendations for reducing farm spending. That didn’t happen and farm groups are scrambling to have an impact on the 2012 or 2013 farm bills. The National Cotton Council’s John Maguire discussed those efforts at the Beltwide Cotton Conference in Orlando.
