Fungus workshop to be held at UF/IFAS research center

UF/IFAS will host a multi-state plant fungus workshop at the North Florida Research and Education Center in Quincy, Fla. on Thursday, Sept. 1, 2005.

County and State Faculty of the Land Grant Universities, graduate students in microbiology or related disciplines, nurserypersons and landscapers, agricultural industry personnel, natural resources personnel, and other interested personnel are invited to attend the meeting.

Discussion topics include, “Morphology, Development, and Taxonomy of Fungi,” “Mycorrhizae: Implications for Remediation and Conservation,” and “Fungi and Ornamental Container Plants: Disease Identification and Management.”

The workshop is free for Land Grant University personnel and students. There is a $10 registration fee for other participants. The registration deadline is Aug. 10, 2005.
