Senate Agriculture Committee Chairman Saxby Chambliss (R-Ga.) is pleased U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Mike Johanns has accepted his invitation to Moultrie, Ga., to host one of USDA’s farm bill listening sessions, Oct. 18 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Chambliss will attend the USDA session with Secretary Johanns, as part of activities at the Sunbelt Agricultural Expo held at Spence Field, just southeast of Moultrie.
The public is invited to attend and offer comments on farm bill policy as part of USDA's nationwide farm bill listening tour.
“Thousands of Georgia producers and those from neighboring states plan to attend the Sunbelt Expo. This will be one of the first USDA farm bill sessions held in Southern states to provide opportunity to express Southern agriculture’s unique diversity directly to Secretary Johanns,” Chambliss said.
